Location

Configuration reference: Localização

Overview

The Location component stores one point on a map: latitude, longitude and, when there is one, the address. The point is picked on a map with a pin, by searching an address or by typing coordinates. A table with a location column shows all its records on the Map view.

Picking the point

In the form, the field shows the label, the address or the coordinates, and a map button that opens the picker:

  • Search an address or place: type and press Enter; pick one of the results.
  • Pin: tap the map to place it and drag it to adjust. With search on, the address of the point is filled in automatically.
  • Latitude and Longitude: type both numbers (dot or comma decimal), or paste a pair such as 38.7223, -9.1393 into the latitude field, and press Ir.
  • Address (optional): can be corrected by hand.

Usar esta localização saves the point; the field's Limpar button clears it. Offline, search is unavailable, but the pin and coordinates keep working.

Stored value

JSON text with lat, lng, address and source (pin, address or manual):

{"lat": 38.7077, "lng": -9.1366, "address": "Praça do Comércio, Lisboa", "source": "address"}

Through the API, send this JSON as a string. Latitude ranges from -90 to 90 and longitude from -180 to 180.

Privacy

Address search goes through the OutDo server, which forwards it to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service; the app never contacts that service directly. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap.
