Public form

A public form publishes a Form view at a web address. Anyone, without an account, fills it in and creates a record in the table. Use it for quote requests, sign-ups, applications or contact forms.

The address looks like https://hub.out-do.app/f/<organization>/<address>.

Publishing

  1. Open the table in the Form view.
  2. In the view's toolbar, click the globe button (Publicar na web).
  3. Fill in:
    • Publicado: the switch that turns the form on or off.
    • Título: shown at the top of the page.
    • Endereço: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens (2 to 48). It must be unique in the organization.
    • Introdução and Mensagem de agradecimento: plain text.
    • Permitir enviar outra resposta: shows the button at the end.
    • Fecha em: from this date the form stops accepting responses.
    • Máximo de respostas por dia: 1 to 5000 (100 by default), over the last 24 hours.
  4. Turn Publicado on and save. Use Copiar endereço to share it.

Publishing requires permission to change the table's structure. The feature is available on the Pro, Scale and Enterprise plans and during the trial; on other plans the dialog shows a banner.

What the visitor sees

The public form follows the view's layout: tabs, sections and rows, in the same order. Fields hidden in the configuration do not appear.

Only components a visitor can fill in appear: text, number, rating, slider, checkbox, date (with or without time, seconds accepted; impossible dates are refused), single or multiple choice, tags, plain text description, file and image. Linked tables, users, formulas, lookups, rollups, timers, documents, location and read-only columns, among others, are left out. The publish dialog lists the fields left out.

Field conditions work as in the app without a session: conditions on another field apply; conditions on the user or the profile never match.

A field hidden in the configuration with a default value on the form is saved with that value in every response (for example, «Origem = Site»).

When the form does not accept responses

  • It is not published, or its closing date has passed.
  • A required column of the table is not on the public form and has no default value. The publish dialog warns and does not let you publish.
  • The organization is read-only, the workspace exceeds the plan limit, or the table reached its record limit.
  • The daily maximum of responses was reached.

Files and size

Each file is at most 10 MB (or the column's limit, when lower), with up to 5 files per field (or the column's limit, when lower). Each response carries at most 10 files and 20 MB in total. A text is at most 2000 characters (10 000 for multi-line texts and descriptions). Allowed extensions are the column's.

The record created

The record is created by the organization's Sistema user and goes through the same validation as the API. Record-created automations, notifications and calculations run as for any other record.

Abuse protection

Each address has limits per IP address and per form, on top of the daily maximum. The visitor's IP is not stored; only an irreversible fingerprint is kept to investigate abuse.
