Free board view
Configuration reference: Quadro livre
Overview
The Free board view (Quadro livre in the app) shows the records of a table as loose cards on a zoomable board. Each card's place belongs to the view: the same record can sit somewhere else in another view, and the table needs no position columns. Use it to arrange ideas, risks or tasks by hand, by proximity, without fixed columns.
Besides cards, the board takes notes and loose text, which are not records: you write them straight onto the board. You can also link cards and notes with arrows. There is a toolbar, selection of several elements, undo and redo, and gestures made for the phone and the tablet.

Configuration
The view opens right away, with no configuration. In Configurar vista, choose:
- In the Quadro section: Registos novos (new records: they stay in the tray, or appear in the middle of the board).
- In the Cartão section: the Título (optional; without it, the title is the record's own) and the fields shown on each card, with their order, as in the Kanban. With no fields chosen, the card shows the first three.
- In the Cores section, rules tint the cards as in the Kanban. Filtros limit the records shown.
In Configurar vista › Comportamento › Formulário you choose which form opens for Add/Edit and the dialog size (see When opening a record).
Moving cards
Drag a card wherever you want: on drop, its place is saved in the view, in a single write. Clicking or tapping a card opens the record. People who edit records in the table arrange the board; everyone else sees it and opens records. Anyone who cannot arrange only gets the Mão (Hand) tool and the Registos tray: they can pan, zoom and open records, but change nothing.
If the write is refused, the card goes back.
To take a card off the board, right-click it and choose Tirar do quadro (Remove from board); on a touch screen, tap the ⋯ in the card's corner or long-press it. You can also select it and press Delete. The card goes back to the Registos tray; the record is not deleted. If the record is deleted, its card goes with it. See Selection to move or remove several at once.
Navigating the board
The mouse wheel pans the board and Ctrl + wheel changes the zoom, from 20 % to 300 %. Ajustar (Fit) shows every element. The board opens fitted to what is on it, never above 100 %. The details are in Zoom and panning.
The Registos tray
Records that do not have a place on the board yet wait in the Registos tray, left of the board. Drag a card from the tray onto the board and drop it: it stays there. Adicionar creates a new record, which stays in the tray or appears in the middle of the visible part of the board, depending on Registos novos in the Quadro section.
The tray closes with the X and opens again from the Registos button in the toolbar. The button only appears when there are records still to place, and shows how many.
Boards with position columns
A board made before this version kept the position in two numeric columns. Those columns are no longer written: the first person who opens the view and edits records in the table imports the positions once, and the board keeps the cards where they were. The Quadro section says which columns the positions came from. To import again, use Voltar a importar das colunas (re-import from the columns): cards with values in those columns go back to those positions, and the others stay where they are.
Nowhere to store places
If the view has nowhere to store the places yet, the board says so above the cards and is read-only. People who can configure the view get the Preparar o quadro (set up the board) button.
On the phone
The board is the same, with the toolbar at the bottom and touch gestures. The tray starts closed and opens from the Registos button in the toolbar. See Phone and tablet.
Limitations
- The zoom and the visible part of the board are not kept between visits.
- The undo history lasts while the view is open.
- Frames, shapes, align and the pen come later. For arrows, text as an arrow end and "Criar registo aqui" come later.
