The toolbar
Configuration reference: Quadro livre
The board toolbar is at the top left. The zoom and Ajustar (Fit) are at the bottom right, and Desfazer (Undo) and Refazer (Redo) at the top right. Each button shows its name and key in the tooltip (for example, "Selecionar (V)").

| Selecionar (Select) | V | Clicking picks, dragging an element moves it, dragging the empty board draws a lasso. It is the default tool with a mouse. |
| Mão (Hand) | H | Dragging the background pans the board instead of drawing the lasso. It is the default tool on touch. |
| Nota (Note) | N | A click on the empty board creates a note there. |
| Texto (Text) | T | A click on the empty board creates a loose text there. |
| Seta (Arrow) | A | Drag from a card or a note to another to link them with an arrow; a click on a card or a note arms the connection. After you create the arrow, the tool goes back to the previous one. |
| Registos (Records) | Opens and closes the tray of records still to place. It shows how many there are, and only appears when there are some. |
After you create a note or a text, the tool goes back to the one you had before picking Nota or Texto (the Mão on touch, Selecionar with a mouse), and the element is already in edit mode: just type.
Who sees what
People who edit records in the table arrange the board. They see all five tools. Everyone else sees only the Mão and Registos: they can pan, zoom and open records, but cannot create or change anything.
Space: the Hand for a moment
While you hold Space, the Hand is active whatever tool you picked. When you let go, your tool is back. Use it to pan the board with the mouse without switching tools.
On the phone
The toolbar moves to the bottom left, laid out horizontally. Nota and Texto sit in the menu of the + button ("Adicionar ao quadro", add to the board), and the Seta sits next to it. See Phone and tablet.
Coming later
Frames, shapes, align and the pen do not exist yet. They will arrive in the same toolbar.
